文通しても手紙を書いたことにならない？
上巻五章三節に、就職活動に関して「キップスは手紙を書いたことがない」旨の記述がある。

また、「キップスは手紙を書いたことがない」とあってから、数行のちに「故郷に書いて知らせることはやめておこう」という旨の記述もある。
おそらく、作者の混乱ではなく、ちょっと家族や友人に書くものと問題にしている正式な（？）「letter」とは別種のものなのであろう。
話しているのは私、割ったのは君
ある人の底本の中巻六章一節ではアンが自分がやったことをキップスがやったみたいに言っている。Wikisourceでも同じ。

She hesitated. "Funny, wasn't it?" she said, and then, "you got yours, Artie?"

もともと六ペンスはキップスのものではあるけれど、割る作業をして割ることに成功したのはアンのほうだったのに。
もっとも、異本があって、二人で割ったことになっている。

シドの妻のなまえ
同じ人物に複数の愛称があるのは矛盾とは言えないが、記録しておく。
- 最初登場したところでは（中巻七章三節）シド（Sid Pornick）は自分の妻を「Fanny」と呼ぶ
- アンの出産時（下巻三章五節）、アンは、シドの妻のことを「Bessie」という名で言及している
おじさんのなまえ
Kippsがおじさんから受け取った手紙から、おじさんのなまえは「Edward George Kipps」であることがわかる（中巻六章六節）。しかし、もっとまえにはおばさんから「James」と呼ばれているようだ（上巻六章六節）。これはおかしくないだろうか。それとも愛称でそうなるのだろうか。それとも「James」は間投詞かなにかなのだろうか。
"Must 'ave been," said Old Kipps.
"James," said Mrs. Kipps, in an awestricken voice, "after all—perhaps—it's true!"
